- Abstract
Considering the material properties of Tyvek, I wanted to explore the possibilities of two thickness as patches for a drum. The inspiration of the shape is coming from “cajas Andinas” a type of drum from the Andes that has two leather patches.
Tyvek as a very resistant yet malleable material that could be potentially replacing leather creates a vegan alternative for drums.
The resulting prototype is then combining tradition and innovation into a durable, recyclable and vegan option for drums.- Description
