GOLDCAOS
It was born from an idea by Giusi Sanfilippo and Carmelo Maria Carollo, in 2018, after various artistic collaborations.
Carmelo Maria Carollo
He was born in Palermo in 1970. He soon showed interest in the arts and artistic design. He began his artistic studies at the Institute of Art in Bagheria, section metals and goldsmith's art, he continues his path by graduating from the faculty of architecture in Palermo,
After the age of 20, he began to collaborate with silversmiths and goldsmiths to create prototypes and make his own the goldsmith arts and embossing and chisel techniques.
Soon he is called to teach as professor of Metal Arts and hard stones, at the Reg institute. d 'Arte di Enna, organizing and participating in events and exhibitions on its own behalf and for the school where it was a teacher.
At the age of 23, he began building his own goldsmith's workshop, studied materials, experimented with unconventional techniques to use for his own creations and to modernize contemporary jewelery.
He collaborates with ADI of Milan and with Oro of Rome to participate in several national and international jewelery competitions.
On its own it undertakes the experimentation of contemporary jewelery using 3D graphics programs using CAD cam per numerical control machines
Serial production of jewelery pieces,
within a few years the first collections are made, inspired by eros and thanatos, the passion enhanced by the encounter of the sacred and the profane.
In 2012 he obtained a master's degree in History and Technology of the ancient Sicilian Gold and Silverware at the University of Palermo.
Winner of the International Award of the Unesco "Bioethics Art" in 2013 of HongKong. He continues his artistic activity exposing in Palermo, Rome, Cosenza Milan, carrying out the latest collections dedicated to Greek / Roman mythology, Visigoth and to the Sicilian Culture from which he takes cue.
A multi-faceted artist and designer, he has dedicated himself for many years to artistic installations and the concept of recycling in a contemporary key.
To date co-founder of GoldCaos, with Giusi Sanfilippo in turn writer, photographer and emerging director, passionate about art and design, currently Sicilian woman 2019 for artistic merits and for her versatility.
GoldCaos aims at the fusion of the arts that filter through everyday life through design on various levels, the context of the jewel, field incui C.M. Carollo is specialized, it becomes a work of art to wear, and no longer a simple object placed in a traditional way and detached from meaning.
