Artist Bassim Ayad dreams a lot
He admitted that his dreams are rather large. After online visiting the Picasso Museum in Paris, he fell in love with Pablo Picasso. It made Ayad begin to dream of one day being what he called “the second Picasso” .
Ayad is used to pursuing dreams. He was born and raised in a small village in upper Egypt
“I grew up in a place that is very rich in custom and tradition, Growing up in the heart of the ancient, rural region of upper Egypt, there was an inner, solitary dream waiting. Despite the walls of a miserable life, the dream was always smiling despite the pain “ .
Ayad studied civil engineering and made his way to Dubai in 2008, where he worked in construction fields with CCL Gulf, Orascom Construction and Americana group.
He loved his time in Dubai because of the new buildings, roads and towers. Ayad said that he was able to create some design projects as well. But he had his eyes set on coming to the United States.
Art ;
Ayad developed a love for art. He was self-taught and began to see significant advancements. By the time he was studying at the university level, he had started to work professionally as an artist, balancing that with his civil engineering career. He did couple of exhibits in Egypt 2006 and Dubai 2012 and show his arts newspaper.
It was in the U.S. that he saw his greatest opportunities for artistic growth. Ayad arrived USA in 2016, “I came here to grow my talent, to discover the new world and challenge my dreams,” Ayad said .
The places that Ayad has exhibited include the Corona Art Association, Corona Public Library, Fontana Donor Center and Art Colony in Corona , Riverside city hall part of the Artscape exhibitions in the Riverside County Administration Center.
My art depends on life and the lessons , “I’ve learned from being human,” he said. “I believe that art should be filled with messages and contain lessons for everyone”.
Ayad believes that the power of pursuing a dream can help to propel a person to success” ,
“I was an unknown child in the hands of a very small village,” he said
The dream gave me the opportunity to come out and embrace the light.
