Born in Puerto Rico in 1963, Jorge Rafael Calderón is an artist who works in a variety of media. With a conceptual approach, Calderón access a wide scale of subjects in a multi-layered way.
After obtaining his Bachelor Degree in Fine Arts with majors in Illustration and Graphic Design from Pratt Institute in New York, Calderón has continued to develop and nurture his different voices as an art director, illustrator, graphic designer, actor, musician, and advertising creative for the last 25 years.
His art directly respond to the surrounding environment and uses everyday experiences as a starting point. Often these are framed instances that would go unnoticed in their original context.
His work can be found in private art collections both in the United States and abroad. He currently lives and works in Miami.
